An e-book (short for electronic book) is an e-text that forms the digital media equivalent of a conventional printed book, often restricted with a digital rights management system. Our eBooks are electronic versions of the printed book which can be read on a personal computer or other devices that support Apple iOS (iPad, iPhone) or Android.

iOffline reader is a computer application for Windows PCs that allows you to read your books offline.It functions similarly to the web-based online reader. Please note that the iOffline reader does not work on tablets unless it is running Windows, we are working on apps for the Android and iOS tablets.

When you use iOffline reader for the first time, you need to provide:

Account URL - econtent.wageningenacademic.com

Username - Enter your account name

Password - Enter your password

The iOffline reader will verify your account details. If the account details are correct, the reader will continue to load. Once loaded, you can see all the books that you have subscribed online with a download link for offline reading.

Wageningen Academic eBooks can be read on any modern PDA devices, tablets, smartphones and Personal Computer. For reading, you need to make an account on the website econtent.wageningenacademic.com (link "Sign in").

Reading on Kindle is not supported.

iOS users:

Minimum OS Version: 6.0
Supported devices: iPhone 3GS and more, iPod Touch, iPad 1 and more.

Android users:
Android version 4.0. and more.

In addition to zoom, reading, and downloading, eBooks are fully searchable and users can annotate, bookmark, and highlight them. Users can search for terms in a single book, across their purchased titles, or across the full site. Also, during online reading on computer, you can share information about your book and chapter you are on, to your friends on social networks.

Type a search term or phrase in the search text box and click on ‘Go’ to search the e-book content. Your search results will appear in a column on the right-hand side of the page. Specific search terms usually result in more targeted results.

Right click on content to which you want to add notes and choose 'Add Notes' from the options list. You can check for these notes in the 'My Notes' segment in your 'My Folder' page.

Simply go to the website econtent.wageningenacademic.com using your web browser, login, click on Bookshelf, select the book you wish to read and click "Read It".

Offline viewing:

PC or Mac: Download iPublishCentral Reader from the Bookshelf page with internet connection and current access rights to the title. Adobe Air latest version.

iPad:  iOS 6.0 or later, Available Memory Space 500MB and above. Download iPublishCentral Reader for iPad free app available through iTunes/App Store on the device. 

Android tablet: Android 4.0 or later and access to Google Play Market. Download the iPublishCentral Reader for Android free app available through the Google Play store. Screen size 7 & 10 inches Resolution 800x600 and above RAM 2GB. Available Memory Space should be 500MB and above.
